Farm Theme Dessert Table

I’ve been anxious to share some awesome news with everyone! At first I thought I was dreaming, but it’s really true!! It really happened!! Are you ready for this?! Check out this link! Did you see it?! That’s me!! That’s the recent dessert table I designed about a couple weeks ago. It was featured on the queen of dessert tables’ blog!! Amy Atlas!!! Can you tell how excited I am?!?! Pause [for dance of joy!]. This is a huge honor!! Thank you Amy Atlas! Thank you for featuring my table and being a huge inspiration!

So let me tell you a little about this table. I designed it with the help of my SIL Suzan for her daughter’s [Hana] 2nd birthday party. Hana loves farm animals so it was an obvious choice for the theme. The inspiration for the colors and style of the table were based on the fabric I had used for an outfit that I had made for Hana (which she did wear for the party!). Aqua, pink, and red with a touch of shabby chic-ness! When I think of a farm, besides animals, I also think of a farm stand so that’s the look I wanted to shoot for. So we had fresh fruit…

As well as caramel and kettle corn…

Fresh “eggs”…

Yup those are cake pops shaped as eggs! We also had horses! Horse shaped sugar cookies on a stick that is…

And what’s a farm without a cow!

I’ve been hoping for the opportunity to one day make a gum paste cow, and this was it! Isn’t she cute? I had so much fun putting this cake together! My 11 year old step-daughter (a cake decorator in training:D ) assisted me with the cake…she made all the flowers and helped me make the hay and fence. And see that skinny little chick on the bottom left in front of the barn? She made that one… she was so proud of her chick! LOL!

We had carrot cake cupcakes with white chocolate cream cheese, and apple cupcakes with real apples in every bite! Milk was served in small vintage glass bottles with striped paper straws.

I sewed the tablecloth, as well as the name banner.

I wanted the banner to be a keepsake for Hana, so I made it out of fabric.

Hana welcomed her guests…

…and sent them home with personalized tin pails that had animal shaped crayons and a coloring book.

Suzan made the crayons. I personalized the tins with my Silhouette. The round labels were purchased from Sarah and Abraham.

The children were entertained by farm animals and pony rides!

The birthday girl loved feeding the animals!

Thanks Suzan for making me a part of Hana’s day!
