New Kid on the Block

Hi everyone! Newbie blogger here. Just a little about myself and why Ode to Inspiration. About 3 years ago I began my journey into the craft world, starting with cake decorating. I’ve always loved baking and never really thought about getting into cake decorating. On a trip to Michael’s, I saw a sign for a Wilton cake decorating class and thought “why not?!” From there my journey began. After taking one class I continued on until I completed all four of the Wilton classes that were being offered. In the meantime, from Martha Stewart and YouTube I learned cookie decorating. But that wasn’t it! At the same time I decided to take sewing classes at a community college. After completing all the cake decorating classes and two sewing classes, I ventured out on my own. However I couldn’t have done it without all these amazing people on the web… people who’s blogs I’ve discovered and now follow! They have inspired me to create and to continue to challenge myself to make new things I didn’t know I was capable of doing. Throughout my posts I will be naming these people… not only to show my appreciation but also in hopes they will inspire you too! Thanks to all these talented people I’ve learned to find inspiration in things around me… sometimes in the least expected places. I believe we all have a creative side to us… we just need to find that inspiration and the medium (or mediums) to express it! So here I am joining the blogging world…an Ode to Inspiration! I not only hope to share with you my inspirations, but also the projects that I have made as an outcome of that inspiration.

Ok, so your sweet feedback brought me back to your blog and I am so glad it did. We started blogging at the same time, I started in August as well. And, I also noticed that our general location is the same. Who knows, I might be fending you off the next time I hit my local Goodwill :). I just signed up for your email, I figured, us Midwest girls need to stick together! Have a great day!
