I’ve never sponge painted before, but I figured how hard could it be. Sure enough, it was much easier than I expected.
I had bought these candle holders from Michael’s a few years ago on clearance for $.67! I use them as a part of my Ramadan decor. I wasn’t crazy about the original color, but they were not so bad that I wouldn’t put them out. This year I decided it was time for their makeover.
I wanted to keep it a simple project, so I decided I’m going to stick to working with what I had on hand. I had bronze spray paint and gold paint.
I spray painted the candle holders bronze.
Once dry, I sponge painted them with gold paint. All it took is a very small amount of paint, and a light dab all over the the candle holders. I was done in a matter of minutes! Too easy!
And that’s it! With just some sponge painting, and my $.67 candle holders are looking good! Don’t ya think?
