Counting Down Ramadan

Hi everyone! Long time no talk. I know I have been MIA for a few months, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t think about you all. Despite the fact I haven’t been sharing anything new with you, you all have been continuing to show support to Ode to Inspiration by sending me comments and emails. I truly appreciate every one of you! Thank you!

Ramadan is just around the corner… starts next week! I can’t believe it’s already here. Ramadan is the Islamic month of fasting. For those that may not be familiar with it, I shared a bit of information in this post HERE last year.

I’ve had a couple of Ramadan countdown calendars shared with me that I loved and just had to share with all my readers.

Nadia's Ramadan Calendar

Jenan's Ramadan CalendarThe calendars were made by my friends Nadiah and Jenan. I think they did an awesome job. I especially love the concept behind the envelopes. Here’s Nadiah’s and Jenan’s descriptions of each of their calendars:

Nadiah:

Iman and Noor’s Ramadan project for the year. I think I’m more proud of it than they are. In the envelopes each day, they will find their good deed/act of charity for the day and a dollar. The dollar will go to a charity box while the good deed will be done for the day, as they count down the days of Ramadan. Yay! This was really easy to make if you want to do something with the kids for Ramadan.

Jenan:

…it’s very similar to what Nadiah’s girls made (check out her wall for a version of this for older kids). The printed square are bags I found in Michael’s, one for each day of Ramadan. I haven’t filled them yet, but we are going to have small treats for Sulay to open each day. On some days it will be something that he has to share with others and on some just a lil something for him. The main goal we are going for is to make Ramadan fun and exciting.

Thanks ladies for sharing your calendars!

Other things I’m loving…

Modern Eid Lanterns

ModernEid added these chic decorative paper lanterns. You can use them as decorations in all sorts of ways…. hang a group of them together with twine/ribbon or individually… add them to any table top with an electric candle underneath it… decorate your dessert tables with them… create a countdown calendar out of them… or even use them as favor “containers”. It doesn’t seem like there is a closing at the bottom which is no problem… just place your treats in a treat bag and either tape it on the inside on top or tie the bag with a string to the handle from the inside.

Silver Envelope added new products as well.

Silver Envelope Ramadan CountdownWant to create calendar like Nadia’s and Jenan’s, well Silver Envelope makes it easy because she has a kit for you! Now you have no excuses not to make a calendar!

Silver Envelope Cupcake KItFrom Silver Envelope I’m also loving this simple but yet statement-making cupcake package. Who said that you need a box to package your cupcake? Cupcake insert and bag is all you need!

Need more ideas? Here’s some that I shared with you last Ramadan:
