Satin, Lace & Feathers

Is it just me or did this week go by pretty quick? It’s already Friday, and we have a long weekend to enjoy. Yay! But before you go off to enjoy your weekend, I would love for you to hang out with me for a couple of minutes or so! I promise, I won’t keep you. If you haven’t grabbed your coffee yet (or tea if you prefer), go ahead and grab it… I’ll be right here waiting for you sipping away on my cup of joe. ;)

I’ve been quite excited to share my latest creation and who better to share it with than with my blog world friends! As I mentioned in the last post, my niece was a flower girl for my cousin’s wedding which was last weekend. I already shared with you the feather apron that I made to go on her dress and in the next post I’ll be sharing the completed look… yay! Why not share it today? Well I thought to create a little bit of anticipation and share the hair accessory I made instead. Haha!

Petaled Satin Fabric Flower

Do you remember this hair piece I made for Susu last year? It was inspired by Jonie from Just Between Friends. She shared a tutorial that you can check out right here. You can check out my Petaled Satin Fabric post to see how I added the lace… not much to it!

Vintage Whimsy Hair clip

I used Jonie’s tutorial and the idea behind Susu’s flower to make my niece’s hair accessory except this time I loosely rolled the petals and added lace along with feather pads in the back of the flower.

I also added a jeweled center which was actually a pendant. It was the perfect match with the plum and green stones!

That’s it! I hope you enjoyed my show and tell for today… and sure hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day weekend! Don’t forget, I’ll be revealing the flower girl’s complete look in the next post. See you then!

Beautiful. Can't wait till we see the whole finished look.
Easier for me to grow flowers than it is to make em. I'm all thumbs when it comes to making flowers of any sorts
