Glittered Glass Candle Holders

Oooh Glitter… I’m back! Do you remember my glitter everything phase? I think 2011 was my year of glitter! I haven’t glittered since then. There was no reason for ending the glitter; it just happened. But after seeing these gold glitter painted jars on Pinterest I just couldn’t resist and had to jump back in. I love gold. I love glitter. I love jars. But really, Madigan Made had me at gold. To add to it, I loved the dipped effect and that they were used as candle holders… the flames make the glittery gold the more sparkly which means the more eye catching! Yes, I was sucked in and just had to make my very own glitter painted candle holders.

However, I used actual candle holders rather jars. These candle holders are going to be a part of gift baskets, and I wanted to keep the gift baskets uniformed. So off to the dollar store I went and bought 10 glass candle holders.

Madigan Made used glitter paint. A cleaner route, so I opted to go the same route. I used glass glitter paint by Martha Stewart. One small bottle is all I needed. I applied four coats of the paint, allowing for drying time between coats. Once I applied the fourth coat, I removed the tape while the paint was still wet.

That’s all it took. Gold and glittered. They look great as is… or they can be embellished as well to make them more personal for the occasion…

Fall Glittered Glass Candle Holders

Or season. We are in the fall season after all, and gold is the perfect color for the season.

So I couldn’t resist but add some fall embellishments…

Glitter Painted Fall Candle Holder

Just to say hello to fall. I couldn’t say goodbye… oh no not just yet, so I think I will need to make another trip to the dollar store to replace the three that are greeting fall. What was I thinking by not including myself in the count to begin with? Ha!

The rest of the candle holders will be embellished for a special celebration that is to come. Be sure to stop by for the next post to see how.

Now it’s your turn to do the talking… so type away!

    Gorgeous! Perfect for fall.
    Oh, how neat it would be to do them in stripes; like for Christmas or doing red, white and blue for the 4th of July, green for St, Patty's day, pastels for Easter, etc. It's got me to thinking now. These ole brain waves are working over time now. :}

    Thanks for the inspiration.

    Oh, those are so pretty. I haven't heard of glitter paint but now I want some. It really does give a very clean and subtle look. The glitter is still translucent and gives a chic appeal.
