Apple Pecan Pie Cronut

I’m about to present you with a heavenly dessert that is worth every calorie. Yes, indeed. Every bite is worth every calorie. You won’t look back, but instead you’ll look forward to the next. I have a tiny list of food items that make it on my worth the calorie invested list, and this exceptional treat made the list with flying colors. Yes, indeed.

Apple Pecan Pie Cronut

This wonderful investment of calories is this apple pecan pie cronut. You’ve heard of the cronut, haven’t you? My pictures don’t do them justice. Words don’t do them justice, but with one small bite you will understand.

If this homemade version of the cronut tastes this good, I can’t imagine what the real deal tastes like but I could understand why anyone would wait hours after hours after hours to get the real thing. I’m sure you’ve heard of the famous Ansel Bakery in New York that started this cronut craze. A craze well deserving of a craze without a doubt. I am willing to become one of those crazed people that stand in that line for hours on end.

Until I get to New York, I will enjoy this melt in your mouth homemade recipe that Tieghan from Half Baked Harvest shares with us. Warning: Tieghan’s pictures will make your heart stop and your mouth salivate uncontrollably. So be prepared. Seriously.

It’s not just about the cronut alone, it’s also the amazing recipes for the toppings that Tieghan shares. The apple cider caramelapple cider caramel cream cheese frosting… and the apple pecan topping. The combination of everything together…OH BOY! Your mouth won’t know what to do with itself. You will be licking your plate clean… I beg you to lick your plate clean and leave nothing behind. Seriously.

Caramel Apple Pecan Pie CronutI did use the cheater route of using the Pillsbury refrigerated crescent rolls dough, but if you are brave enough to make your own dough, Half Baked Harvest does have a recipe for you. Making your dough from scratch may take up your whole weekend, but Tieghan promises it is well worth it. Whatever route you decide to take, please don’t wait any longer. Run, don’t walk, to make this!

What are you waiting for? GO, GO, GO!!
