Fall Decorating {Rustic & Natural Elements}

You know that feeling you get when something seems missing? Well, that’s how I felt with my fall slash Thanksgiving vignette. In the previous post I had shared my faux galvanized cake stand. I had mentioned that I had an unintentional metal theme going on in my vignette… galvanized metal. So I couldn’t resist wanting a galvanized cake to stand to use in place of my gold glass stand. Instead of wasting my time to look for one, I made my own stand. It was quick and simple… and it completed my vignette! Now that my fall vignette feels complete, I can finally share it with you all…

Rustic and Natural Elements Fall Vignette

I love rustic and natural elements, so that’s the theme I tend to go with… a theme especially quite suitable for Thanksgiving!

Rustic Fall Vignette

I have for you a bouquet of wheat in a vintage rustic milk jug…

Galvanized Candle Holders

Rustic candle holders filled with mini pumpkins and pinecones and topped with tea candles. I had come across these candle holders on a thrifting trip last year. For $.25 each there was no way I was going to pass them up!

Trader Joe's Cinnamon Whisks

Have you seen these cinnamon whisks? I discovered them at Trader Joe’s on one of my visits. As soon as I entered TJ’s the air was bursting with the scent of cinnamon, and as I followed the scent I was led to these cute little whisks and a large version of them… a cinnamon broom! I couldn’t resist them so I bought one cinnamon broom which sits in my front entrance with my front door fall vignette, and I bought a few of these little ones. I have a few ideas for these whisks other than using them decoratively around the home. I’m thinking place card settings, gift tags, and even as personalized Christmas ornaments. I really am loving these cinnamon whisks!

Rustic Thanksgiving vignette

You know what else I love? Pumpkins! I seriously can never tire of pumpkins whether they be real or not! I usually fill my wooden bowl with an assortment of gourds, but this year I went with an assortment of pumpkins.

More pumpkins went into my Blue Ball Jar along with pinecone fillers…

and even more pumpkins sat atop of my newly made cake stand. Oh how I love this cake stand! Don’t be surprised to see it again and again in future posts. ;)

In the background, I used my vintage shutters, my rustic frame of rosettes

Give Thanks Old Rustic Window

And another new edition to the family is this old window that I the stenciled with the phrase Give Thanks. As I usually do, I created the stencil with my Silhouette.

There you have it… my fall slash Thanksgiving vignette! In the next post I’ll be sharing more fall decorating ideas so be sure to stop by!

In the meantime, do let me know your thoughts on my vignette so type away!

Oh your fall mantel looks so cozy and inviting and screams of all the wonderful things of fall. I'm loving those little pumpkins. I almost wish that the computer had an option to smell those cinnamon brooms. I totally want to go buy one now.

I adore your turquoise shutters and the rosette frame. They are so sweet paired together! The seasonal bowl of pumpkins contrasts nicely with the shutters. Great job!

What a great looking mantel! My favorite piece is the vintage milk jug with the wheat bouquet. It's such a unique way to add height to your decor, yet it looks so natural. Perfect!

The broom is traditionally used to 'sweep away negative thoughts' ;)
