Old Window Ramadan & Eid Decor

I may have not been blogging as often as I would like to, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been creating. Ramadan is just a couple of weeks away, so I had to make sure to share my ideas with everyone.

I have been playing around with the idea of creating a Ramadan countdown calendar out of one of the two old windows I have which have made appearances in my Thanksgiving vignette and in my winter mantel. I have decided it was time for them to make a permanent home… well as permanent as can be. {ya know me!}

I’m really really excited to share my countdown calendar with you all. Really, I am. But today I wanted to first share what I did with the second window.

I wanted to keep the two windows displayed together, but at the same time allow them to stand alone. So as one became a countdown calendar, the other simply became Ramadan decor made out of easy to make elements.

And in the end when it was time to celebrate the completion of Ramadan it becomes an Eid decor with a simple switch of a sign.

Eid Decor

Element #1: Signs. Both signs were created with my Silhouette, and both graphics can be found in the online Silhouette store. How awesome is that!

In case you were wondering… The first sign says Ramadan Mubarak which translates into Happy Ramadan or Blessed Ramadan. The second sign says Eid Saeed (pronounced sa [lower case ‘a’] – eed ) which translates into Happy Eid.

Element #2: Minarets and Mod Podge. My Silhouette did the cutting, and all I did here was Mod Podge each one onto the window. Nothing to it! These minarets were also found in the online Silhouette store.

Rag Garland

Element #3: The final touch…. A rag garland which has a mixture of burlap, lace, and cotton fabric. I love rag garlands because they are quite snazzy and super duper easy to make!

Easy and quick elements is all it took to make this window Ramadan and Eid ready. Next post will be my new Ramadan countdown calendar! I promise. ;)
